Maybe I just don't get it because I'm white.
Tiffini K. wrote a letter to PlanetFeedback, addressing an issue that's serious to her. She has 6 daughters, 3 nieces and 4 goddaughters ~ and she can't find any 2008 holiday dolls of color at her particular Wal-Mart store. I totally agree with her - there should be dolls of all shapes, sizes, colors on the market.
Don't get me wrong, I think she wrote a great letter - and this is obviously a important issue for and for many parents. But you all know I'm a bit cynical - and I wonder if their children's doll collections are just as diverse as they expect Wal-Mart's to be. And what are we supposed to do about it?

There are few things in life that are sadder than the death of a child... yet even fewer things more disgusting than its cover-up. Renee Bowman, who lives in Maryland, adopted three children - all lovely little girls.
Adoption is a great thing; I myself have an adopted niece and nephew. Gorgeous, happy, thriving, loved children. Wonderful children who make all of our lives fuller and happier by their presence.
It was not such a happy life for Bowman's adopted children. Two of these girls were discovered in her freezer. Authorities believe that they may have been dead for a year. One starved to death; the other died in a fall.

Giving birth doesn't necessarily mean you're a mother. There's so much more involved. Some of the best mothers have never seen the inside of a delivery
room and have no idea what labor feels like. It's not hard to recognize a good mother when you see one. You can tell by the way she handles a child, speaks to a child, relates to a child and protects a child. Being a mother is a state of mind.
Britney Spears is the mother of two children. She has gone through all the
motions to create and bring two new people into this world, only to have them taken away. Her circumstances might be extraordinary and sometimes even beyond
her control, but a real mother would find a way to rise above the adversity in order to give
her children what they deserve. In the last few days, I've heard more opinions about Britney's life and
downfall than I care to know. There are women on welfare, single women,
underprivileged women, and even abused women who manage to be good mothers to
their children, and I think the reason is simple.
