If you're like me, born in the dark ages of unflavored medicines, you've probably repressed memories of your mother holding you down, shoving some vile antibiotic down your throat while you screamed and spit, only to get another mouthful and a good tongue lashing from your parents. And if you're more like me, you will probably never, EVER be able to hold down anything with the misleading description "cherry flavored."
Sorry to dredge up these deeply buried visions. But I do have a point here.

Last night my son started coughing. It isn’t a really bad cough yet, but it sounds as though it could turn into something kinda yucky. You know - sounds kind of deep, a little like a frog.
Every time one of my children gets sick, I have a brief internal struggle. You see, I, like most moms, want to be a good parent. I really want to make good decisions and do the best things for my kids. Since they were infants I have been told not to give them over the counter cold medicine. I have heard all the arguments about it and understand what they are saying – I just disagree.
The doctors say that there is no benefit to providing cold medicines to young children. The AAP says, in essence that the medicines do not cure colds and that children get better with time.

Apparently I'm glowing.
It's quite noticeable and people at the office have commented on it. There's rampant speculation as to whether there's a new man in my life and what it is that is causing me to be so incredibly happy this week.
I'll let you in on the secret and the reason ~ I haven't had a fight with my teenager since last Saturday.
