America Online Scores A Touchdown!
America Online certainly has taken some lumps in the press, lately.
But they've now enacted a couple of initiatives which are bound to cause the multitudes to cheer.
First up, AOL will no longer charge for access to their email and web services.
And, today, they announced they would give 5gb of free online digital storage to anyone who's a member. For free.
By eliminating the monthly fee for access to their email and web services, AOL is taking a huge gamble on behalf of consumers everywhere. They've put their revenue stream at risk in the hopes of drawing more users which will ignite their advertising programs.
At PlanetFeedback, we celebrate companies who make bold moves for the benefit of consumers. We applaud AOL for their recent actions and hope they translate into measurable gains.
