I stopped buying Girl Scout cookies a long time ago when I found out the troops only receive a tiny fraction of the price of each box, with a lot of the money going towards big salaries. Years ago I remember seeing a woman from the Girl Scout organization on 60 Minutes (I think) defending and attempting to justify her six figure salary. It was disgraceful.

I don't know if things have changed since then, but I never forgot that woman. If a Girl Scout knocked on my door looking for a donation to her local troop, I'd be happy to help reduce their costs for activities, supplies, etc. But buy cookies?.. sorry, no thanks.

I guess I won't be buying cookies either. I already think they're a bit overpriced, but they were worth it. But for less cookies?

Nope.

Our troop puts out a donation can when we sell directly, and we get more donations that way from people who really want to see the scouts get taken care of and can't be bothered buying cookies just to help out.
