Global inflation continues to hit your dinner table, but not in the way you may think. A product that is a staple in many pantries across the world may soon not be so easy to get. Two major warehouse retail chains are now limiting the amount of rice that you can buy at one time. Sam's club is limiting customers to 4 bags of rice per visit while Costco is allowing only one bag of rice. The concern is not so much about a global shortage but more out of concerns that restaurants and small stores will stock pile rice thinking that the prices are about to shoot up. This restriction has not hit regular retail size bags yet but is currently for 20 pounds or more. So we wonder if this means that the price of Chinese food from our favorite Chinese restaurant will go up or if the rice will now be sold separately from the meal?
Food for thought, hopefully the same fate won't hit potatoes.
